Barrier Free Films
Barrier Free Films provide voice descriptions of the scene as well as the barrier-free subtitles containing the speaker, dialogue, music and sound information, along side the original film so that everyone can enjoy the screening.
To make the festival more inclusive, the 13th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival presents two feature documentary titles in barrier-free versions. Working together with the Korean Barrier Free Films Committee(KOBAFF), DMZ Docs aids the production of Barrier Free Films, hosts screenings during the festival, and provide the materials for its future screenings. Using an ‘open format’ production, these versions would not require additional equipment for screenings, so it can be easily used for community screenings for the elderly and children.
