In the dazzling incandescence of an unknown desert, three donkeys discover an abandoned astronomical observatory and the universe. A sensorial, cinematic exploration of what a story can be.
Palomo, Ruperto, and Palaye, three donkeys, ascend a steep slope under a sky filled with stars. As time swiftly transitions from dawn to morning and space shifts across hills and ridges, the taciturn protagonists reach a desolate astronomical observatory, strewn with piles of stones. With their arrival, the abandoned site comes to life, and the once-dormant universe awakens. The ever-changing landscapes, conveyed through the resonance of strange sounds, are presented from the donkeys¡¯ perspective—or a similar vantage point. Perfectly a Strangeness is a filmmaker¡¯s exploration of the essence of art that defamiliarizes our perception of reality. It delves into the gray areas of time and space and the boundaries between reality and fiction, imagining repeated mirror images, sounds synchronized with the donkeys¡¯ hearpoint (the auditory equivalent of a viewpoint), the sun high overhead, a lost fox, and the awakening of the cosmos.
